Simple RDS "thin client"

Here is the plan: Replace approx 12 older PCs with Windows 2008 R2 with RDS and convert the current PCs to act as thin clients. However I can find no simple solution for the thin clients. I already downloaded the evaluation of Windows 7 Embedded Standard and followed the instructions to "build an image" using the "thin client" profile. Maybe "thin client" isn't what I am expecting it to be, but after I was done I had a Windows 7 Embedded installed and it appears to be almost identical to a Windows 7 desktop. What I am looking for is the "thin client" boots up -- say from an 8GB SSD -- and then presents the user with the login screen from the RDS server. On the local "thin client" environment I don't want any capabilities or access to any applications: everything is to be done through the RDS session. Sort of how the little Wyse clients work, except since we already have existing PCs I want to use those now and slowly phase them out as they have issues.
