Windows 7 VDI collection nightmares

I'm trying to create a new VDI pooled image collection using a Windows 7 virtual machine created in SCVMM but VDI no longer sees that virtual machine in the list of virtual machines after I did a sysprep.  One thing I noticed is that I'm unable to use the /mode:vm command in sysprep even after I installed the integration services from Hyper-V when I could swear that it worked just fine on a different VM just yesterday.

I'm honestly not sure that's my problem, I can't find anything online that says when creating a Windows 7 VM for VDI that you NEED to use the /mode:vm command, but I know when it worked on one VM I created I didn't have any problems and was able to create the VM without an issue.

So to summarize, I'm confused on two fronts, do I actually need to use the /mode:vm switch?  And if so why doesn't that work even after installing all windows updates and integration services from Hyper-V?

I'm on a huge time crunch so any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
