Attempting to connect to server 2003 terminal servers, multiples. Session immediately disconnects, without even prompting for logon, with message that the the Terminal server has no available client access licenses.
The server/s have many free licenses and the configuration is correct. Have spent hours trying to resolve why we are getting this error from multiple workstations. Finally found an obscure refernce on Tom hardware site http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/243663-45-solved-connection-problems which says to delete the licence folder in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MSLicensing\Store on the lcal workstation.
Agreed this apparently fixes the issue but I would like to know why it fixes it as I can find no documentation on why it resolves the problem. Can any explain to me what was causing the problem and why whatever in in that reg key causes the remote server to generate an error in it's event tlog that none license server can issue the workstation a cal?
