Hi!
I'm trying to make a default Startscreen that all users will get when they logon to the terminalserver. I have all the shortcuts and i've grouped them With names. My enviorment is all Win 2012 R2, RDS is configured from a standard Microsoft guide.
We use UPD With the following settings
Includes Roaming and Registry + \appdata\local\micrsosoft\windows
My latest attemt to solve the problem includes
1. Log in With a admin on the terminal server, manually configuring the start screen.
2. copy the file \"admin user"\appdata\local\Microsoft\Windows\appsfolder.itemdata-ms to same location in Default (user)
3. strip away all Write Access to the file, so only read is left. i also do this to the file in the other user account (admin user) so all appsfolder.itemdata-ms files on the computer is Read only, even for system.
4. then i check my UPD share, and delete all files exept the template.
5. log on With a normal user via rdweb, a New upd is created and my startscreen is "Windows default"
6 i check the itemdata file in the UPD and see it has a different size.
So my questions is.
1. where is that file generated from? does it generate from the Upd template file (witsh seems empty then mounted)?
if i knew how and of what this UPD is made up of, maby i could understand better. Or if there are files copied in to the UPD upon logon to the TS, and from what profile would that be? Default?, "admin user", All users?, Programdata?, default user? whis is blackmagic to me ;)
2. Is there a solution for this? i've red som many diffrent ways of doing this but have'nt succeeded.
Best Regards
