2012 Remote Desktop farm cluster advice

I'm currently running individual 2008 R2 remote desktop servers where users log in to do statistical research. These are VMs in a VMware 5.5 cluster connected to an Equallogic SAN, and they're all in AD. The VMs are in VMFS luns and the data volumes are ntfs luns connected via iscsi. Each server hosts the data volumes for several projects. However, some of the servers are heavily utilized while others just about have tumbleweeds blowing through them. I'm going to upgrade the VMs to 2012 R2 and I'd like to create an RD farm with a connection broker so the broker can handle the load balancing as people log in and also make sure that people reconnect to established sessions.

My question is about the type of cluster I need. I don't care about failover. Can I have all of the RD members be clustered file servers so that they can all safely connect to the existing iscsi volumes, or do I need to set up separate servers for a file server cluster and share out from those?

Thanks.
