Hi,
I've got a problem with RemoteApps on a Windows Server 2008R2 SP1 RDS server. Basically, if the client resolution is 1366x768, the RemoteApp ignores the Taskbar and, when maximized, covers the entire screen of the Windows 7 x64 client, covering the
Taskbar entirely. This happens with any RemoteApp, including Microsoft Office 2010 - I've been using Word 2010 as my test RemoteApp.
If I change resolution to anything available on the client other than 1366x768, it works as expected - the maximized RemoteApp does not cover the Taskbar. This isn't a fix though - almost the entire fleet of laptops that will be using the RemoteApps
have 1366x768 as their native resolution and my users won't stand for running the laptop panels with a non-native resolution.
I've installed various hotfixes to try and solve the problem, including those that have been suggested before:
- http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2582172
but these did not fix the issue. I've also tried various other hotfixes in the hope that a more recent build of the relevant files has silently fixed the problem, so e.g. the current versions I'm working with of some key files are:
- rdpcore.dll - 6.1.7601.17825
- rdpshell.exe - 6.1.7601.22055
- mstsc.exe (on my Windows 7 client) - 6.1.7601.21855
but nothing so far has actually fixed this issue. I think those are the latest versions of those files available in hotfixes at the time of writing.
My test laptop is a very ordinary Dell Latitude E5510 running the current version of the Intel display drivers (8.15.10.2827) on Win7 SP1 x64. I've tried earlier versions of the drivers too but they haven't made any difference.
Anyone got a clue about this? It's the last issue holding up my RDS rollout.
Thanks,
James
